It is often said to “measure twice and cut once” for precision and success in carpentry. The meaning and wisdom of this proverb can also be applied to almost any aspect of home improvement.
At California Plumbing, we pride ourselves in our attention to detail in inspecting and fixing problems of all sizes, anywhere in the home.
One of our clients in Pacific Beach called us to request the expertise of a professional plumber for specific parts of their remodel, seeking trained eyes and skilled craftsmanship to help them finish their project flawlessly.
Plumbing Upgrades During Your Remodel
Perhaps no other room is as filled with as many plumbing fixtures and components as the bathroom. When revamping your bathroom’s look and style, it is crucial not to overlook the position, condition, and functionality of all the appliances, fixtures, and parts. Whether you are installing new items or reusing existing ones, calling a professional plumber for thorough inspection and proper installation will help bring your project to perfection, prevent future plumbing problems, and ultimately protect your investment and hard work.
Our Pacific Beach client requested that we remove their toilet in order for them to install new bathroom flooring as part of their remodeling project. They explained that revamping and redesigning their bathroom was a significant undertaking, into which they had eagerly invested considerable time and money. Additionally, they wanted to retain the same toilet for the completed remodel, and requested that we reinstall the toilet once the new bathroom flooring was in place. They had decided it was important to call a professional plumber to ensure that the toilet’s reset and reinstallation were performed correctly.
Our technician arrived excited to be a part of the transformation of their bathroom. Our technician reset the existing toilet and inspected the existing flange. They discovered that the flange had been starting to rust on the right side. Scraping away only a thin layer of rust, our technician confirmed that the remaining cast iron was healthy.
Once the new bathroom flooring had been installed, California Plumbing’s technician revisited the client to reinstall the toilet with new washers and bolts. Testing confirmed that there were no leaks. Our technician applied caulking to create a seal between the base of the toilet and the bathroom floor. They informed the client that the caulking required a 24-hour curing period, during which it should not come into contact with water or moisture.
Sink Drain Plumbing Repair
The process of remodeling can sometimes uncover issues that you did not previously know about. When this happens, it’s a relief to know exactly which expert you can call and rely on.
Our client identified a problem with their bathroom sink. Confident that our technician would be able to fix it, the problem left the client unfazed and undeterred about completing their remodel. Our technician removed the existing white flex drain piece and tightened the pop-up nut. With too short of a tailpiece between the sink drain to the P-trap, our technician installed a new tail tubular drain piece for the vanity and added a tubular extension to the P-trap.
Testing confirmed that the sink drain worked with no leaks.
